Manuka honey is one of the oldest and most healing type of honey on the planet. It comes from New Zealand, and people are still preparing beverages and tonics with it. This is a monofloral honey that bees are producing from the flower of Manuka tree. It is known for the exceptional anti-bacterial properties that are not destroyed by exposure to heat or sunlight.

A research group from the University of Waikato (New Zealand) found in 1981 that this kind of honey has powerful, unique, and stable anti-bacterial properties, which can’t be found in any other types of honey. Everybody should be thankful to factors like low water content, high concentration of medicinal ingredients, and presence of very rare therapeutic ingredients from the flowers of Manuka tree, and low acidity.

It is very effective for moderate and severe infections, helps with burns, and its great alternative when antibiotics are not effective anymore, it’s very good against ulcers, and instantly relieves and recovers pain with wounds. When you place Manuka honey on your wound, it will absorb the water and will dry the affected area, while the anti-microbial properties of the honey will destroy all microorganisms that can infect the wound. It’s very effective, because it penetrates deep into the skin layer, and it can be used to moisturize and restore the immunity of hair and skin.

Also, it helps with eczema, acne, dermatitis, inflammations, fungal infections, rashes and ulcers, digestive problems, anemia, and asthma and allergies. New Zealand is known for the production of highest quality honey. However, not every honey is made the same. It depends on the origin and the season, so active compounds may differ.

Consume 1 tablespoon 3 times during the day to deal with inflammation, but if your inflammation is acute, you can take a spoonful every hour. Children younger than 1 year and people who have allergy to bee products shouldn’t consume this honey. Note that not every manuka honey is balmy, only the honey that is UMPh labeled can be used for treating of many health problems.
