It’s generally accepted to use shampoo first, and after that conditioner. But, is that the right way of use? Everything you need is to change this traditional hair wash habit and you will notice the results.

If your hair is oily or thin, this is the perfect way to wash it. Wet your hair, and apply some of the conditioner on the ends of your hair. You can add a tiny bit of the conditioner on the roots, too. Rinse your hair after 5 minutes and wash it well with shampoo.

Why You Should Use Conditioner Before Shampoo

The reverse wash will remove the conditioner from roots successfully. Unfortunately, with the traditional method where shampoo is first and conditioner second, the conditioner stays on your hair, and makes it look oily after few hours.

Here are some of the benefits you will get if you use conditioner before shampoo:

  • You will get bigger hair volume
  • Your hair will get the needed hydration

Many hair care experts suggest people to use this method during summer, because the hair dries fast in that period of the year.

  • Your hair will be healthier with increased lifespan, because with this treatment the hair will be nourished deep inside.

Note 1: Reverse washing method doesn’t give expected results with every type of conditioner. There are conditioners that are especially designed for this purpose.

Note 2: Avoid applying conditioner to your roots and avoid this way of washing, if your hair is very dry or damaged.
